[REL] Pteri's Glass Walls - 100 ish pieces

IT'S FINISHED

MEDIAFIRE --> http://www.mediafire.com/?mngogzmnvzm

ORIGINAL POST
---------------------------------

My 5th CS set on the go It's a bunch of glass walls and beams - nuff said. Quick overview of what I've got so far:

Random 90 second building:

I'm planning on making some solid walls/panels and some funky wall variations. Also need to make a few fillers and beams for some of the crazy shapes.

Hope you like it so far :]

Looking good. I like the beams idea, so that you can have something "holding" the glass together.

Update woo. Created some more beams, triangle wall pieces and half walls. In case you haven't noticed, everything is recolourable and quarter tile placement

Quick shot showing that the beams can cover all of the pieces (only used the rooves in pic, but it works with all the walls)

The shadows look a bit weird. I'll see how they look if I take them away near the end of the set.

Hope you like this update :]

The beams aren't glass, but I accidentally imported some with the Glass style and it did look cool, so it may well be the next thing I make :]

I like the angled walls. They're something that was conspicuously absent from office day.

Another update:

Panels. It feels good using models I've already made :]

And some filler pieces for the straight roof and round roof.

This will be very useful especially for making large skyscrapers and office buildings. Keep up the good work Pteri!

Update :] Made a bunch more panels (they're exactly the same models as the walls, if you're wondering.)

Overview of all the walls, rooves and panels so far:

Set is nearly finished at about 75 pieces (haven't counted :P)

Fantastic work so far. I really like the ability of changing the colour of the walls. It would be great if you could do some half diagonal walls, too (but certainly itīs your choice )

You must be psychic, or something :]

All that's left to do is to make panel versions of all the rooves (and possibly glass beams). If you have any ideas, please share them, the more pieces the better :]

Ugh. Upgraded to windows 7, so I've had to reinstall everything, so my PC has been a mess for the last few days. And I lost my piece of paper that I'd written everything down on, so I can't easily check what's in the set. What I've managed is some inverted round rooves and connectors:

Thanks :P That first building was fairly dismal, it looks much better when moving around ingame.

Using SIGlass does weird things. The beams are pretty much needed, or the many different reflections are totally unseamless. But thanks :]

I know exactly what you are talking about, where the texture style seems to start and end at every single piece. I have found a very simple way in which to get rid of this problem (thanks to Vodhin), but if you have created the model in SketchUp you need to import it into another modeler like Blender or Milkshape where you can fix the diagonals. Let me know if you would like me to show you how to do it.
