[REL] Jonnyears & Imagineer John's Teacups (2 CFRs and a CS Set!)

Hey everyone,

The teacups ride which came with RCT3 is a terribly designed ride, mainly due to the unrealistic look and the building which comes with the ride which you cannot remove. Imagineer John and I have spent the last few days making a customisable teacup set!

Basically, the download comes with two teacups rides. (One is a smart white with blue/black detail whilst the other one is a slightly different recolourable style.) What you get with the rides is the platform, the teacups and the teapot in the middle. No silly roof like the one that came with RCT3.

Now, this gives you a lot of options theming-wise. Most building sets should be able to work effectively if you want to try your own structures. I've made a CS set which is included with the download which has objects specifically made to fit the teacups to make nicer buildings. There's also a few more random objects like teacups and stuff to theme the area around the ride somewhat. You've already seen the billboard with a teacup flying through it, this next picture explains some of the other items in the set.

There's two places where you can download this:

Revolutionary Rides

Great work! But I feel like the sign with the teacup "smashed" into it looks a little tacky...

That's true. It is actually a billboard though so you can use an image that looks a bit nicer than that. Hopefully that can reduce the tackiness somewhat!

Where are the sugar cube benches and teabag bins?

Ha ha, great to see this finished, guys. The detailing on the teacups is very realistic, Jonny, and the floor textures look even better in-game. Great animation too, ImagineerJohn. Cheers for this, it's easily the better alternative to the in-game glass one imo.

It was an excellent idea, John agreed too. I had planned on making it all but unfortunately I realised that I didn't know how to. There was a Biscuit Bench in the set originally which sort of worked but we decided not to include it in the end.

Ha ha, fair enough man. I was joking anyway, the set still would've been great with just the CFR and railings, the rest is an added bonus.

I didn't know Johnny is still modelling! Looks great both of you, it must have been horrible to animate.

jonny, i have tryed this out and i thought it was awesome, but why does the teacups go slow for because i thought it would go a little bit fast like the ones in RCT3, but i do like this a lot.

And i have rate this 5 stars

Imagineer John animated them, I didn't think they were particularly slow though. Hopefully you'll still like to use them though.

Is anybody else having this problem? I've just tested it myself and it worked fine. Download the zip file to your Desktop, when you then extract the files you should get a normal folder of the same name. Inside that folder, there is a read-me which will explain how to install it all.

If you're still having problems, post here and I'm sure someone (Probably who knows a lot more than I do) will be able to help.

I've tested idd now in RCT3 and I think much things can better:
-THe cups must be smaller. Now they are too big
-Maybe the surface of the ride must be smaler. maybe 3x3.
-You should not only make a gate in the doors. But too a little fence. THat only the exit & entrance ahs got gates.
-the animation of the tea cups (only the tea cups) must rotatopn the other way. Now it makes rotation to the right. But it must be to the lift.
-Maybe must be the paltform recolorable either. Now ther are black. I don't really like that

Good luck

These really look great. I like the CS a whole lot. They would look extremely realistic with bumper cars. The tea cups look amazing! Great details and good textures!

I'd love to see a picture of the ride themed. I love it when people show what they've done with the rides so don't be shy to post them in this thread!

Thanks for your list. Some would call it helpful, some would call it nitpicking! The problem really is, to edit the model in anyway would mean that Imagineer John would have to spend hours in Blender setting the ride up again. It's a lot of effort which can really be avoided.

There's another shamelessly plugged ride in the picture, perhaps that one is hidden a bit better.
