Since fileden deleted my files (again) I've decided to just host 'em all myself, the link is below, Have fun

Recently, I was asked by Tomm to make "a couple pieces" for his Saw ride. It turned into around 40 of 'em!

Since I finally finished all the pieces Tomm wanted, and there are a boatload of saw based tracks out there, I decided to see if anyone has any interesting suggestions for the set.

Everything was built to tomm's specs, so they may not be as flexible as if they'd been built for general use, but most should be useful for horror themed rides.

I'll show ya what I have so far.

Here are some traps inspired by pics from the ride



^^ animated spike traps. They're ride events of course.



^^ This one was based on a trap in the queue line for Saw the ride. It's also a ride event.


^^ Here it is in action.



^^ The swinging axes are animated, but not a ride event.



^^ There are 3 "dead bodies" you can place around, this one is from the ride at Thorpe, it has a ride triggered particle that squirts blood at ya



^^ Finally, some Closing walls. There are 2 variations, one moves 1/2 square, the other a full square, the animation is 12 seconds long

Now, if anyone has any interesting suggestions, I'm happy to hear 'em, but please no requests like "Build a replica of saw the ride" because, after I stop laughing, I'll just say No.

The spikes look a little odd... Can you just make them straight? Otherwise, I like everything else.

The spikes are actually angled that way so they're more visible,
when they are straight on, you basically just see circles appear.
They curve just a bit on the way out. They look pretty cool in action

I didn't make the spinning blades because I'm pretty sure there's a set released already with the spinning blades. (tomtomtom's saw set?)
No sense in doing something that's already been done


OK, here's a couple more pics for ya.



^^ It wouldn't be Saw without lots of CCTV cameras right?
One is animated, one is fixed. both have a blinking LED.



^^ A nice headchopper. (nice?) It fits perfectly inside a 1 square wide hallway. Oh, It rotates BTW



^^ shotguns from on the ride. They have a particle effect (ride triggered) that looks like a shotgun blast.


And finally, a couple overview shots of some of the "incidental pieces"





^^ Also included are some severed bodyparts, a produce scale with a head in it (jigsaw's), and some crappy chains I was never happy with, but tomm liked 'em. (walls not included)

Anyone have any ideas for additions?

Ooh, cool pieces! And that makes more sense (From my question).
Any way to make the spikes on the headchopper more like cones? Or is it supposed to be triangular prisms?
And for the last walls, I've got two things:
(1. Are they wall clings?
(2. I'm not crazy about the texture... Check your PM's.

I'm kinda fanatical about keeping poly count down. Because of that, the roller is a 4 sided cylinder, and the spikes are triangular, to save 2 faces on each one (removed the bottoms too). The headchopper comes in around 72 faces. The spikes in the spikeboxes are conical andthe boxes come in around 200 triangles as a result. I'm gradually learning little tricks to keep poly/vertex count as low as possible since. Plus I was going for a home made industrial look. The texture is diamond plate, darkened with the blood pattern added (gotta love paint shop pro)

Yes. the blood splatters are alpha overlays, same with the "games begin/begun" alphas Got the PM, thanks a bunch

Hmm, that sounds doable.
I do already have a table with junk on it already, but the desk sounds like a good addition.

^^ There's 2 versions of this trap, one with and one without the fencing. It looks sweet with a red light shining on it.

Few requests though- maybe get some traps with people in it? Like the Pendulum trap, Jaw-Splitter and maybe an animated Bed Trap

Instead of making the doors 12 seconds, could you make it so we could choose the specific time? If not, do what Cook did: 4, 6, and 12

I won't do traps with people because I want to keep it as family safe as possible. the "dead body" in the set is a cartoon I drew.

Imagination is a good thing, you show folks just enough to kick in the imagination, you don't wanna show it all, that takes the fun out of a scary ride

Well as I said at the start of the thread, the pieces you've seen were custom made to Tomm's specs. If I change the times, it would screw up the timing on his ride. Oh, they're not doors, they're closing walls, you put a block brake in a spot and set it to release as the wall reaches the track

That, i could probably do.
Those weren't meant to go over the track, which is why they're made the way they are.

since there are 3 requests for the doll, I guess I can try to make a couple.

I've actually been wrestling with the billie on trike thing for a while, but I'll figure it out eventually.

Read above about people in traps. Sorry, if ya want to put people in the traps, you'll have to find someone else to make the people



I do have a little update for ya.



^^ The requested Jigsaw Desk. The chair is a seperate piece.




^^ A themed frame from the ride. There's is also a 3 sq wide version.

THIS.....THIS my friend , is going to be AMAZING!!!!! i love EVERY peice in this set. About the rack, the broken one isnt acualy in the film, but what i ment was like........


the rack peice you got (the one without the fence around it) just batter and worn. I want to put it around the que on my saw ride, like on the real ride , were theres old and broken traps around the edges.
